ABOUT

According to the U.S. Surgeon General, only 20% of low-income children visit the dentist every year. Unfortunately, nearly 80% of low-income children are not receiving proper dental hygiene which results in tooth decay, gum diseases, and serious infections. More than 51 million school hours are lost each year because of dental disease.Children who experience tooth pain cannot effectively learn the skills that are critical to their academic success.*

Mobile Smiles aims to decrease these statistics by offering high quality dental care to children with in-school or daycare dental prevention. Our friendly and caring staff are all locally-licensed clinicians and are passionate about what they do. We are able to conduct the cleanings in a small room at a school or daycare center with a portable set-up. The cost of the exam is completely covered by most dental insurances, including Medicaid.

Our services include:cleaning, flouride and sealants. Sealants create a barrier between the tooth surface and the plaque that cause cavities. They also reduce the risk of cavities by up to 70% for up to five years. Sealants are underutilized accross the US, particularly among low-income children. A child may be referred to a dentist to receive additional dental work depending on his or her condition.
